13) THE FINAL PRODUCT

Before creating our final presentation, we also created a scannable prototype on GitHub which allowed users to see how the AR overlays might actually look. The scannable prototype can be found here : https://evieellis.github.io/NHM/nhm-garden-map.html

Additionally, we created a story board which explains Elsie and Gemma’s experience in the garden with the device. This ranges from them first receiving the device and getting an explanation, then wandering through the graden learning about the data, to leaving the device in the drop box stations located at exits of the garden. We felt a storyboard was important to include because it showed the interaction of the device with not only the user but the logistics for the museum.

We started to put all of the parts and pieces together in our presentation, but did so methodically. As mentioned in lecture, “To design is to communicate clearly by whatever means you can control or master,” Milton Glase.

We spent a lot of time and effort creating outputs that clearly communicated the design goals and purposes of the device, but we wanted to make sure we clearly established this in the final presentation. We made sure the presentation flowed smoothly and organically, as well and created a script that accurately and critically detailed our design and journey. After practicing and refining our presentation, just like we did through the entire design process, it was time to present!
